About Our Podcast

Welcome to our podcast: THE ALTERED STATE

We record every live talk at the Hen and Chicken in its entirety and we then splice together highlights of the most informative and interesting segments and add our own pithy observations. Running at an easily digestible 30 to 40 minutes, THE ALTERED STATE is our way of continuing the need to talk about the conversations we have on the night, spreading the spoken word in the digital space. Please share.

The distinctive music that bookends the podcast is from ‘Ilashe Beach’ by the brilliant Tony Njoku. With thanks for this use to Tony and our friends at PRAH, the experimental music label who value artistry over commerce.

The Altered State

Our 3rd event on Apr 24th focused on AI.

Our host Rudy Millard was joined by Nigel Toon, co-founder & CEO of AI company Graphcore, speculative fiction author Heather Child, and Colin Gavaghan, Professor of Digital Futures at Bristol University.

Their message was clear: AI development should not be left to experts alone; society must engage and shape its direction.
